Day 9 – Wake up Righteousness

April 26th, 2011

Scripture: Matthew 22:8-13

8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless. 13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’”

Scripture: Isaiah 61:10

“For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness”.

Learn: In the Parable Jesus looks up and sees a man who isn’t dressed for a wedding even though he’s at one! The bible calls us to be clothed with righteousness. Imagine the “wake up” call this guy had as he was being thrown out!

Being righteous means to be in “right standing” with God. In other words there’s nothing between God and us. Sin is what comes between us in our relationship with God. Is there any areas you need to get right with God?

Prayer Starter:

-Ask God any areas of your heart that aren’t “clothed in righteousness”

-As he shows you things, confess them and ask for forgiveness.

-Write down whatever he tells you journal about ways you gain victory

in that area and walk in righteousness.

Day 8 – Wake up the fruit of the Spirit

April 24th, 2011

Scripture: Ephesians 5:8-14 (NKJ)

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

“ Awake, you who sleep,

Arise from the dead,

And Christ will give you light.”

Scripture: Galatians 5:22I(NKJ)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Journal: What about these scriptures are similar? Answer the following questions.

Love – How can you love someone today?

Joy – What about God makes you smile?

Peace – What area of your life needs the peace of God today?

Longsuffering – How can suffering produce fruit of the spirit (look at the life of Jesus)?

Kindness – Think of someone who isn’t kind to you and bless them with kindness

Goodness – Give your time today to help someone

Faithfulness – How can you please God by being faithful?

Prayer Starter – God I desire to reproduce godly fruit in my life. I am no longer in darkness, but in your light! As a child of light help me to reproduce the fruit of the Spirit for the glory of Jesus!

Day 7 – Wake up the church

April 23rd, 2011

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:27

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually

Scripture: Hebrews 10:25

25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Learn: Remember that Jesus did not die for buildings, He died for people. You are the church. The Holy Spirit lives in you. Individually we are temples the Holy Spirit lives in. This is why we need to take care of our temple and stay away from sin. When we gather with other believers we become the “body” of Christ. Imagine what a group of people could accomplish when they gather together for the sake of Jesus!

Pray Starter: God wake up the church to do great works on the earth! The church is the hope for the world. God I pray for my church to make an impact in my city. I pray for my brothers and sisters to be filled with the Spirit to release heaven on the earth!

Day 6 – Wake up the bible for me

April 22nd, 2011

Last week’s message mix – click here to listen

Scripture: Hebrews 4:12 (AMP)

12For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.

Scripture: Psalm 119:11

11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

Learn – The bible is the only collection of books/writings that literally will make us come alive when we read it. The less word of God in us the easier it is to get distracted from God. With the help of the Holy Spirit the bible will become the greatest source of God’s heart for revival in the earth.

Memorize and Meditate: Find a scripture today and memorize. When you find one don’t just memorize it but take time to “think deeply” about it in prayer. The more scripture in your heart the clearer God’s voice will be in your life.

Day 5 – Wake up prayer in my life!

April 21st, 2011

Scripture: Romans 8:26 I (AMP)

26So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

Learn – This scripture says that we really don’t know how to pray. There is so much happening in our lives that it will be impossible to pray for everything. The good news is that the Holy Spirit is currently praying on our behalf!

Types of prayers – One of the most powerful prayers is called Declaration. This simply means telling God who He is in prayer. This type of prayer is found throughout the whole bible. When you declare who God is in prayer you actually strengthen your hope, faith, and love for God.

Pray these scripture out:

He is an ACTIVE God

17But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work  – John 5:17

You are my SAVIOR

You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation! – Psalm 89:26

You are the UNFAILING God

The earth is full of His unfailing love – Psalm 33:5

Day 4 – Wake up the Holy Spirit inside me!

April 20th, 2011

Scripture: John 14:15-18

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 2:10

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God

Learn: Jesus promised us as believers the Holy Spirit. God wants to be so near to us that He now can live inside of us! This is such an awesome thought because when you think about it, Jesus could only touch as many people as He could when He walked the earth. Now He can touch us all by the Spirit! The Holy Spirit loves to reveal more to us about Jesus and God.

Key Point – Who on earth knows the most about God? (Answer – Holy Spirit). The Spirit is always leading us towards Jesus. Learn to listen to His voice while reading the bible and praying.

Prayer Starter– Holy Spirit give me greater revelation of Jesus and greater revelation of the Father God. Help me to lean into your heavenly power. Help my mind to be quiet and submit to the mind of Christ.

Day 3 – Wake me up to Jesus!

April 20th, 2011

Scripture: John 14:6 (AMP)

6Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

Scripture: Matthew 16:13-17 (NKJ)

13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven

Journal: Jesus is the Way, Truth, and Life – Write down how you can have Jesus more alive in your every day life. Jesus asks His disciples “who do you say that I am”, our life is the response to this question. What does your life say? And what do you want your life to say?

Prayer Starter: Jesus show me who you are! I want to know:

Your Ways (how you do things), Your Truth (who you really are in all areas of life) and Your Life (actually desiring/liking to live my life like yours on the earth)

Day 2 – Wake me up to God’s heart!

April 19th, 2011

Scripture: John 3:16 (AMP)

16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life

Scripture: Jeremiah 31:3 (AMP)

3The Lord appeared from of old to me [Israel], saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you

Learn: The reason Jesus needed to die on the cross was because we separated our selves from God when we sin. God knowing that we are sinners still sent His son to die on the cross on our behalf. We don’t deserve life, yet God gives it to us by His son’s death.

Journal: What does today’s scripture say about God’s love towards us? The bible says that God loves us with an everlasting love. Imagine how long you have been on God’s mind before you were born! An earthly father’s heart comes alive when he sees his son/daughter for the first time. What do you think God’s heart did the moment you left God’s imagination into reality on this world?

Scripture: Psalm 139

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!

How great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;

When I awake, I am still with You.

Prayer Starter – God wake me up to your love! Your love is what motivates me to live for Jesus. Your thoughts about me are too great to count. Even though I don’t feel that I deserve your love, I am eternally grateful you choose to love me! Your heart for me is greater than any negative thought I have of myself!

Journal: Underline the parts of this scripture in your bible that jump out at you and then write down why they jump out at you in your journal.

Take action: If you have something in your life that is reminding you of your old self get rid of it! Throw it away, don’t sell it, don’t store it, and don’t give it to a friend….throw it away. Every time you see that thing it will remind you of the days when you walked in darkness.

Prayer Starter: God wake me up! Let your light shine everywhere I go and whatever area is making me fall asleep expose it in you light! I don’t want to be found spiritually asleep. I was born to be alive today and be a voice for this generation! (pray different part of these scripture to God)

Seriously!

March 4th, 2010

Seriously!

It is Thursday morning and I am still thinking about what happen at our last 212 service. Not only that but again God is keeping my heart engaged with the fact that “something “ great is going on!

I was watching some of the testimonies of students from the past Sunday night and 3 students were healed from vision problems! Not only that but one student had tremendous back pain and was healed. There were many more healings that took place, but I wanted to share another great story with you.

After the service many students/leaders stayed after to just worship God (side note: this has happened the last 3 services). After the meeting I noticed parents walking into the room and embracing their teenager. I also saw students praying for their parents. I know God supernaturally healed broken hearts that night and began to restore relationships.

I was standing in awe of God’s hand restoring brokenness with His love between parents and youth. I leaned over to Jamie Pridgen and said “Can you believe what’s going on right now?” He then turned to me and quoted 2 scriptures.

Malachi 4:5-6

(5)Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet

Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.

(6) And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

Luke 1:17

He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, “to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, “ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord

Honestly, in my mind I said “great”. But the Lord wanted to make sure I got it. After the 212 meeting  I went to Atlanta House of Prayer. Just to pray and thank God for His healing power. One of the leaders of IHOP came over and began to pray for both Olivia and myself. In the middle of the prayer he began quote Malachi 4:5-6 and Luke 1:17! AHHHHHH, I hear you God! Again, I was in a place of “what just happened”. My prayer at the moment went form level 4 to 10. I could sense God’s heart toward mending broken relationships between parents and youth!

Pray with us that God continues to move and heal the broken hearted! 212 invites you to join us this coming Sunday at 6:00.

Blessings
